How does internet acces (Wi-Fi & ICT) work?

Our network management of internet connectivity and shared Wi-Fi is taken care of by Building Connect. They can manage our network externally. ScaleHub Offices is offering internet connectivity via Ethernet and Wi-Fi over a private network only accessible by tenants through their own password. If you experience outages or service disruptions in your connectivity please contact us.

Should you have specific wishes or change requests on your own ICT environment you can contact Building Connect and schedule an engineer at your own cost.

General Infrastructure

From the internet service provider and their modem, the Internet is managed through a professional-grade managed router/ firewall from MikroTik. From there on where needed this Internet is supplied through several managed MikroTik switches. All offices are supplied with their own VLAN. This means that networks are virtually isolated so that they cannot interfere with each other. The network supports VoIP. 

Patch points are activated in your unit, and fixed connections with a network cable are much more stable than WiFi networks. When you use demanding applications such as Voice over IP or video conferencing, we always recommend using fixed connections. If you want to use more than 2 active patch points you can connect your own switch and connect the extra devices to it.

Wi-Fi access

ScaleHub Offices provide free Wi-Fi connection for all its tenants.


Tenants can log in to the 'ScaleHub Offices' network using only the organization's unique password. After this, you will enter the secure environment of your organization.


Guest Wi-Fi

All our buildings also have a public Wi-Fi network for guests. You can log in to this by logging in with the following credentials:

  • Network name: ScaleHub Offices
  • Password: welkom2scalehub

Furthermore the access points support roaming. This means you can walk freely through the whole building without Wi-Fi being disconnected. When the signal of one access point is too weak another access point will take over automatically.

LAN access points

Certain services such as Voice and Video over IP will work over the shared Wi-Fi network. However, it is good to point out that ScaleHub Offices or Building Connect can not ensure the quality of these external services. To ensure optimal connectivity and latency we advise using a wired ethernet connection over Wi-Fi for latency-intensive applications.

Self-Managed Wi-Fi Equipment

If for some reason you want to manage your own corporate Wi-Fi, please take these steps into consideration. ScaleHub resides in a multi-tenant environment with lots of tenants and WiFi networks. To ensure Wi-Fi stability we ask that self-managed equipment be limited for coexistence with neighbouring devices.

5Ghz band

Maximum 40Mhz bandwidth and 50% transmission power

2.4Ghz band

Maximum 20Mhz bandwidth and 10% transmission power 

Internet Connections

We rely on third parties such as Ziggo (Coax) and Eurofiber (Glassfiber) to deliver our Internet connection. ScaleHub doesn’t have extra SLA’s on top of our ISP’s. We provide best-effort service via our partner Building Connect to monitor, solve and communicate about the status of these Internet connections.

Specifications

The main connection is one central connection (Eurofiber) of 500/500 Mbps. Shared backup line (Ziggo) 300/40.
